On behalf of ITU, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations the TTC, on the occasion of the organization’s 40th anniversary.
Since its inception, the TTC has played a vital role in the development of telecommunication standards in Japan but also beyond.
In 2011, the TTC signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ITU and several other global standards bodies, committing to working together in future telecommunications standards development.
Alongside ITU, it has played a proactive role in the Global Standards Collaboration, a voluntary organization dedicated to enhancing global cooperation on communications standards.
What is more, the TTC has hosted various meetings of the ITU in the past (for example the Focus Group on Vehicle Multimedia, In January 2019 in Tokyo) – and is a strong contributor to activities fostering international collaboration (for example, the Collaboration on Intelligent Transport Systems Communication Standards, focused on the rapid deployment of fully interoperable ITS communication-related products and services in the global marketplace.)
My heartfelt congratulations again to Iwata-san, the Director General of TTC, and to its members as they celebrate 40 years of vital standards development and fruitful international collaboration with the ITU.
ITUを代表して、TTCの設立40周年にあたり、心よりお祝い申し上げます。
TTCは設立以来、日本国内のみならず国際的にも、電気通信標準の策定において重要な役割を果たしてきました。
2011年には、ITUをはじめとする複数の国際標準化団体とTTCが覚書を締結し、今後の電気通信標準の開発に向けた協力を約束しました。
また、TTCはITUとともに、通信標準における国際協力を強化することを目的とした任意団体「Global Standards Collaboration（GSC）」においても積極的な役割を果たしています。
さらに、TTCはこれまでにITUのさまざまな会合（たとえば、2019年1月に東京で開催された「車載マルチメディアに関するフォーカスグループ」）を主催してきており、国際協力を推進する活動にも大きく貢献しています（たとえば、「高度道路交通システム（ITS）通信規格に関する協力」では、相互運用可能なITS関連製品・サービスの迅速な市場展開を目指しています）。
TTCの岩田専務理事をはじめ、関係者の皆様が40年間にわたり重要な標準化の取り組みとITUとの実りある国際協力を築かれてきたことに、改めて心からお祝い申し上げます。
