Procedures for Supplement to the TTC Standards

  1. Definition of the supplement to the TTC Standards
Supplement to the TTC standards should be defined as: those descriptive attachments to any or all parts of the TTC standards that have yet to be included in the text of the international standards or recommendations on which the corresponding TTC standards are based, but still provide guidelines for implementing those TTC standards.
An supplement to TTC standards should be drafted by the Working Group involved in drafting those standards. The proposed supplement should then be reviewed by the Technical Subcommittee under which the Working Group operates, and should be coordinated by the Coordination Committee.

  2. Procedures for preparing appendices to the TTC Standards
Exhibit 1 shows the flow of the procedures for preparing supplement to the TTC standards. When members submit a request for preparing an supplement, they should specify in writing (in any appropriate format): (1) the names of those proposing the supplement, and (2) the items or descriptions to be supplemented. Then one of the following two steps should be taken.
    (a) A member whose representative is on a Technical Subcommittee and who is in the Working Group that drafted or is drafting the applicable TTC standards, should submit the request through his representative to the chairman of that Technical Subcommittee to which the Working Group belongs.
    (b) Other members or non-members should submit the request to the chairman of the Technical Assembly through the secretariat.

  • How to make known the supplement to the TTC Standards
The details of how to distribute the supplement to those concerned are listed in Exhibit 1.
