Procedures for revising the TTC Standards

  1. How to handle TTC Standard revisions 
       A revision or revisions of any or all parts of the TTC standards requested by TTC members or non-members should be handled as follows, depending on whether the technical contents would be modified regarding the relationship to the content of the rule concerned. 
       The scope of the requested revision should be determined by the Working Group under the Technical Subcommittee associated with the applicable TTC standards.
    (1) If technical matters are modified;
    If technical matters are to be modified, the proposed revision should be decided through normal channels and standard drafting procedures. 
    (2) If technical matters are not modified;
    If technical matters are not to be modified, the applicable Working Group should draft revised contents of the portions in question. These revisions should be checked by the Technical Subcommittee under which the Working Group operates. The check should be followed by a coordination by the Coordination Committee. The draft, finalized by the Chairman of the Technical Assembly, should be presented to the immediately upcoming advance briefing or Technical Assembly meeting.

     

  2. Procedures for revising the TTC Standards
       Exhibit 1 shows the flow of procedure for revising the TTC standards. Any request for a revision of the TTC standards by members or non-members should be made in writing (in any appropriate format), stating (1) the names of those making the request, and (2) the items or descriptions proposed to be revised. Then one of the following two steps should be taken. 
    (a) If the person or organization originating the request has its representative on the Working Group drafting the standards in question, the request should be forwarded by that representative to the chairman of the bTechnical Subcommittee under which the Working Group operates.
    (b) The alternative channel for other members or for non-members to follow is to submit request to the chairman of the Technical Assembly through the secretariat.

     

  3. How to make known the revised TTC Standards
       If the updated version is not accompanied by the modification of technical contents, the way of making known the subject is shown in Exhibit 1. The summary is as follows.
       Regarding the results of the deliberation of the Technical Subcommittee and those of the coordination of the Coordination Committee, the schedule (specifically describing the reason for modification) that describes the contents of the modification is sent to a member of the Technical Assembly, under joint signature of the Chairman of the Technical Assembly and the Chairman of the Technical Subcommittee.
       Furthermore, the action regarding the publication of the bulletin containing the modification contents and the TTC standard documents already delivered are as follows. 
    (1) The schedule is published in the bimonthly bulletin "TTC Report." 
    (2) As for the TTC Standard documents, the schedule is sent to the members of the Technical Assembly. 
       The dissemination of the subject is to be done after clarifying the control numbers of the updated standard documents. Also, an outline of the results of the deliberation of the Technical Subcommittee and those of the coordination of Coordination Committee are to be explained at an advance briefing on TTC standardization or at the Technical Assembly if such a briefing or Assembly is approaching.

     

  4. Control of the numbers of the TTC Standard document version
       The version control unit is as follows. 
    (1) Each standard (JT's, etc.)
    (2) TTC Standard document (in parts)
